Job 2:7

"So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord, and smote Job with sore boils from the sole of this foot unto his crown."

The work of Satan to afflict us and drive us away from the Lord. The work of the Lord to bring men unto Himself and receive the glory out of such actions. So went Satan forth from the presence of the Lord - word study, went; And here we see the way of evil, to go fortha way from the Presence of the Lord. Every work of sin is begun here. show me any backslider, any sinner and you are able to trace it that they went forth from the Presence of the Lord. The sorrow of any nation, any church, any family, any soul is that they went from the Presence of the Lord. Where are you at today? Are you in His Presence or out of it? Can we not see that the times of our weakest moments and worst deeds was because of leaving Him? He has promised never to leave us nor to forsake us, and He is faithful to His word and promise. But we in our sinfulness restrict His Presence by committing sin and quenching, grieving and resisting the Holy Spirit. Are we not guilty fo such things daily? Has the church not grieved the Holy Spirit from our worhsip times and effictiveness? And are we not powerless in this day and age because of such fleshly wanderings? 'Return unto Me, and I will return unto you'. And smote Job with sore boils - the affliction of Job was not the Lord but Satan; Satan was given permission to afflict Job. How often the Lord is blamed for such difficutlites and problems. You hear them cry out, "Why is God doing this to me?" or "Why did God allow this?" the answer is that God is God, and that His ways are far above our ways. And to look at the answer found here in Job. God allowed Satan to afflict Job, so that He might receive the glory due to His Holy Name. of course, most people are interested in that or never consider it, for they are only interested in being happy. Humanism is the worst trick of the devil for our age. Satan knows the devices in his arsenal and will afflict as he sees fit. He is a master of our weakness and fraility and knows jsut what to do to take us down. From the sole of his foot unto his crown - see the thoroughness of his actions; how often the chidlren of God forget the intent of SAtan. 'As a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour'. HE is not out to indulge us, he is out to destroy us. We look at Satan as a friend, instead of the enemy. The premice that he is able to provide fame, fortune and indulgences into sin for our amuesement is to give me a friendly attirubte. he seeks to destroy your soul for eternity and every other soul in the land. His work is thorough, he seeks to cover all the people, every nation, every family, every work of God to thwart it. He seeks to destroy everything to destroy God. How does this concept work when he knows that in the end he will be destroyed?
