Job 14:4

"Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? not one."

What a marvellous verse before us. Who can bring a clean thing out of an unclean? - great questions of the Bible; the depravity of man; It is my belief that the church has lost a lot of the foundations of our Christian faith. One of those principles is that we are vile and sinful and have no hope in our own selves to be saved and redeemed. This is the understanding of true sin, orginal sin and the depravity of man. Born in sin, consumed in sin and lost in sin. And no hope apart from a Savior Who is able to save us from our sin. But man does not believe they are unclean today, they think they are okay. They justify themselves that they are 'not too bad'. But until a soul looks upon their uncleaness of sin and evil they will never desire a Savior. And when they realize that all their good works, religious duties and positive thinking can bring cleanness our of uncleanness then they will seek for Him. No matter how much prayer, services, tithes, or anything else they attempt to do to remove the uncleanness they cannot do it. It is the lie of Satan to their soul that they are able to bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing by their own works. "Just try hard"; 'Be as good as you can be'; 'Do all that you can that is right'. these are afew of statements that contains everything about self trying to bring clean out of unclean. And until the utter lostness settles into a soul that they realize that no matter how good they think they are; no matter how many good works they do, they cannot get clean. Before any man gets saved, he must admit and know he's lost. then, and only then, will he cry out for the Savior to save. If he has been shown the need of the Savior by a Christian. Too often many a soul does not know these truths because the church is silent and afraid to declare the whole truth. We, in the church, are jsut about as guilty of believeing in self-righteousness. And the only clean out of unclean comes by God's amazing grace and mercy. Oh, how deperately do we need Him today. 'Sweep away the refuge of lies' that is deceiving so many. Understand this question is at the heart of it all, no man, no person can bring a clean thing out of uncelan. Not one - he answers his own question with the integrity of a man who knows only the Lord is able to do such a thing; and I would add for our study this statement, 'Not one, only One'. Only One is able to bring a clean thing out of an unclean thing, and His Name is Jesus. 'Thou shalt call His Name Jesus, for He shall save His people from their sins.' How is this done? By the precious blood of Christ that was shed on the Cross. 'What can wash away my sin? nothing but the blood of Jesus; Oh, precious is the flow that washes white as snow; No other fount I know, nothing but the blood of Jesus'. The Son of man, perfect and without sin, gives Himself to be offered for a sacrifice for all the sins of the world. And the Father receives His sacrifice and to any souls that believes and places their trust in Him for His sacrifice will find redemption. Have you found it? Do you know it? Is it yours? then and only then, is a clean thing brought out of an unclean thing. Not of man, only of Jesus Christ. Christ is the One the makes you clean and washes away all your iniqutites and sins.
