"Thou hast granted me life and faour, and thy visitation hath preserved my spirit."
Job just got done saying in verse 1, 'My soul is weary of my life' and now his attention is toward the Lord. Thou hast granted me life and favor - only God is able to do this for us and in us; 'Thou', o Lord are the only One. You are God and God alone and there is none else. Job turns his eyes off his problems and toward the One Who is maker and creator of all. HE is the only one able to grant these two gifts: life and favor. He is life, how can we assume that anyone else is the maker of life. What is ti that God desires for us? "I have come, that you might have life, abundant life in ME'. Now He is the great provider of all that we need. It is not just the physical needs and wants of everyday life. He grants life to us. He Who created all things, grants life and breath to us as a gift. a gift which for so many of us, we take for granted. We almost act as if we deserved to live. But what quickly forget, God is the giver of life. What happens if God would have said, 'no life to this one'. Who can thwart God's word? Or what if God would have allowed for us to be as David's child, 'The child must die'. What if our life woudl have been cut off early? by the sins of others, or the sins of the mother through abortion. How many have not even learned to understand because they was cut off to early? God preserves our life and holds fast to live so that we may know Him. Have you thanked God for giviing life to you? or do you take it for granted? And He gives us favor in this life. Nothing is by chance, luck or by some mystical setting of the sun, it is by God's Divine design. His favor is to us, out of His love for us. Are we not able to see His favor upon us? Why was we born here and not in some third world country? Why was we blest we health and a mind to understand? When we could have been born with some disease or inability to think. God granted us His favor. Why did we receive the Gospel? (If you have received the Gospel) When millions have heard it and rejected it, why did we embrace it? He granted favor. Oh, brethern, look up on th eblessings of your life and see God's great favor for us. How faithful He is unto us. And Thy visitation hath preserved my spirit - God's Divine visitation will satisfy the soul; When has He come? Before the world was formed, He was present, thinking upon us. Waiting for the day in which we would be born and be ready for His Divine visitation. No visit from the Spirit, no salvation; for no man can come unto the Lord except through the Son. It is the Spirit that convicts that brings to salvation in Jesus. Can you remember the day in which His Divine visitation saved your soul? You was lost and He found you, He saved you; brought you from darkness ot light, lostness to salvation, hell to heaven. And that Divine visit preserved your saved soul because you received Christ. 'To as many as would receive Him to them gave He power to become the sons of God.' And in times of weakness, times of being downcast, He preserves us in His own strength; Are you preserved today in Hm? Do you think the church recognizes the Divine visitation to rescue and redeem all of lost mankind? How desperately we need His visitation now. So many lost; so much wickedness; and only a Divine vistiation will redeem. May your prayers and mine be in thanksgiving for what God hath done; what He is doing and may we ask for Him to come in fullness to preserve the souls of the saints and rescue the lost.
