"And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord; he will deliver the Moabites also into your hand."
The kings of Edom, Israel and Judah had gathered to fight against the Moabites. But in poor fashion they forgot water for the battle and their livestock. Of them, only Jehoshaphat, turned to look unto the Lord to find an answer and provision. Elisha the prophet was present and taking a minstrel to play for him, he heard the words of the Lord. By faith they were to dig ditches that would be filled water in the morning, following the morning sacrifice. No rain, no wind, just water to be found, Who else could do this but the Lord? And here we have our verse: And this is but a light thing in the sight of the Lord - 'Is anything too hard for the Lord?' He is able to do all things; He is aable to do abundanatly above all that we ask of think. There is no god like our God. 'A little thing' - even the smallest of 'little things' in the sight of the Lord is great and powerful to us. And how much more does He desire to do for us? How little we have sought Him, called upon Him and waited before Him for His blessings and provisions. George Mueller would awake every morning and pray for hours before the breakfast time, for they were in need of His daily provisions of food and drink. And never once did God fail. He cannot fail, and He waits for us to call upon Him. We would do well to remember that that which is big to us is little to Him. There are no restraints upon what He is able to do. For He is able to take the dead tree and make it fruitful; and able to take the fruitful tree and curse it and it whithers away, for the Lord speaks it. He speaks and it is done. And what can we say here? All that the Lord said came to pass. What is the church waiting for? what are they asking for? what are they expecitng? It is a little thing. For He that can destory a people and raise one up in their place is able to do these little things today. And if God is able to save me, 'the chiefest of sinners', is He not able to save this lost world? He is able, for He is mighty to save. What are you expecting, brethern? what are desiring to see God do? He will deliver the Moabites also into your hand - Not only provide the water for these kings armies and their livestock, but delvier this army into their hands for victory; If the Lord speak it, who can resist His command? The enemies of our Lord are always present around us. There be more of them than of us. We need His aid, fro without Him we can do nothing. Our enemies are more than us, they are empowered by their leader, Satan, they are wiser than us and we are not able to defeat such an army as this. But with God all things are possible, He will deliver them into our hands. The evil, the wickedness, the sinnful are all vessels that must yield to His command. Cry out for Him to speak, to deliver, to save the lost and bring glory unto His Name among the nations. WE have lost toomuch time, too much ground, let us wait upon the Lord and know that He is able and it is a littlet thing to delvier water and the our enemies into our hands. But note here in this chapter, 'if it were not for Jehoshaphat, I would not even look toward thee'. It is the righteous king that gains the favor of God. It is only those that have pure hearts and clean hands that shall go up the mountain. We msut be right with God to see His great hand work. 'For if I regard iniqutiy in my heart the Lord will not hear me'. Perhaps, the most awful accusation of Satan is, that he knows we have so much sin in the church and among the believers that he is cozy to know God better than we do, taht He restrains Himself because of our unbelief. We won't dig the ditches because we think it foolish and waste fo time. We won't go fight the Moabites because they are bigger than us and stronger, we don't believe. The sin of unbelief is our greatest foe, fight against it and prevail or we will never see the little things of the Lord prevail.
