II Kings 10:16

"And he said, Come with me, and see my zeal for the Lord. So they made him ride in his chariot."

Here is a fellow traveler that Jehu meets up with. This man is later mentioned in Jeremiah 35 and of his devotion unto the Lord. And the Lord secures him a continued house to be in Israel for his faithfulness. But as these two meet the discussiono of their work is considered. Come with me - word study, to come; It is the gathering together of beleivers that are liked minded. Is ti hard for you to find such as yourself? I do not make mention of those that are out there in right field or have left the stadium in their doctrine or theology, but those that are joined in heart and soul for the glory of the Lord. and the plea is offered, 'come with me', let us be joined for this cause, the cause of Christ. See my zeal for the Lord - word study, to see; Look upon the work that I have done and that which I shall do, is his statement. This parrallels, the work of Melchidek toward Abraham as Jehu and Jehonadab are linked together. Zeal is a passion, a fervour for the things of God. Now granted that zeal can be for earthly, wordly, sinful things as well, but within our thought today it is toward the things of God. Phinehas was rewarded for his zeal; do you know anyone that has zeal? ARe you filled with zeal? The vast majority that I behold are barely able to make it through. Their standard is more to the liking of 'lack of zeal'. You are not around a person that has zeal very long, before you know it. It is exciting and eventful, never a dull moment at hand. Zeal pulsates on the thngs of holiness, power and Divine love in christ. Zeal is what motivates the heart to seek after God, for they adore Him and all His wonder. Look upon your efforts, your labors, your life, where has it shown true zeal for God? Is it your prayer of confession that your zeal has lacked? Is it your desire to have greater zeal? Then go to Him Who gives His blessings in such a way and ask and seek and you shall find. So they made him ride in his chariot - word study, made; These two likeminded men were joined together and had fellowship as they rode together. There was conversation about the things of the Lord. Nothing is more spiritually healthy than to hear and share of the greatness of God and His mighty deeds. Is there not encouragement upon hearing how God has worked? Is faith not increased to know that God is in our midst working even now? Too often it is the sad testimony, that Christians have not had a fellow believer like this to share with, to grow with. They are alone and swallowed up by the world. Fellowship is broken among God's people. This is one reason, I cannot believe that church's are continuing to downsize services throughout the week. First they cut the prayer meetings, then they cut Sunday evening church and now mid-week services are being removed. All for the reason that people are too busy. WE do not know the danger we are invoking by removing the fellwoship of believers together. People are busy, but if too busy to fellowship in the house of the Lord, 4 times a week, then you are in sin of busyness but not for the glory of the Lord. Let the fellowship of believers be restored and see the impact of glorying in His Presence.
