II Samuel 14:22

"And Joab fell to the ground on his face, and bowed himself, and thanked the king: and Joab said, To day thy servant knoweth that I have found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king, in that the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant."

Is it not the same with us? That when we are granted His graces and mercies, can we not say, 'He hath looked upon me in favor.' Let us learn from Joab here of our own need to worship our Lord and King. And Joab fell to the ground on his face - there is utter humility expressed of bowing our face to the ground; The proud will not bend their knee, let alone put there face to the ground. It is the true spirit of worship that places one prostrate and bowed low before Him. what is your position before Him? Too many will not bow, too many will not lay flat out, too much pride, and not enough desire or knowledge of they are talking to. It is the Lord God Almighty, you cannot walk into His Presence, it is too glorious and holy for such sinful men. And bowed himself - laid low before Him; Shall I not say it again? 'Every knee will bow and every tongue will confess that Jesus is Lord of all.' Practice now, bowing the knee before Him. And thanked the king - Joab showed a side of emotion that we never really saw before; He was a warrior, yet, here we see him expressing appreciation unto the king. Can it be said of you and me that we have bowed the knee to give thanks unto the Lrod for all that He has done? Has your lips utter His praise and thanksgiving? Let us not be silent nor ungrateful for all His many blessings. Give thanks to Him for all things. today thy servant knoweth - word study, to know; Each day presents the opportunity for us to learn and be taught new things. We should be able to say at the close of the day, that the Lord has given me something new to know. And yet, there are many a child of God that is content to know nothing more or less of His perfect ways. Strive to know more of Him, think of Him, learn of Him and be like Him. I ahve found grace in thy sight, my lord, O king - God's Divine favor of blessing of which we did not earn nor work for; His grace was a gift unto us, that we either accept or rejected. But Joab is declaring that he had learned that David had granted him his request and he knew from that that he was found in favor of the king. Let us look around us and count our many blessings and know and testify taht we have been found in His grace. And if there is not evidence of His blessings then something is wrong with the relationship between you and God. For He is gracious and merciful in all His ways. That the king hath fulfilled the request of his servant - he had answered him favorably; OUr Heavenly FAther stands ready to fulfill our petitions as well. His eyes do not slumber, nor is His ear deaf to His children, but He desires to grant our requests. Let us not keep silence before Him, seeing that the Holy Spirit liveth to make intercession on our behalf. Let us look to Jesus, Who is our great inercessor at the right hand of God. The ways fo the Lord are precious and powerful and He hath granted our request. He is the Master we are the servant and let us give honor for all that He hath done and that which He shall do.
