I Samuel 21:9

"And the priest said, The sword of Goliath the Philistine, whom thou slewest in the valley of Elah, behold, it is here wrapped in a cloth behind the ephod if thou wilt take that, take it: for there is no other save that here. And David said, There is none like that; give it me."

The priest is Ahimelech and unaware of all that has happened between David and Saul. A simple question to answer, 'is there any weapon here?' I see Divine providence here; David slays Goliath and the sword of Goliath ends up here some how for the direct provision of David. Whom thou slewest in the vally of Elah - a reminder of what the Lord has done; Yea, David slew him, but David came to him in the Name of the Lord. And we are no in our own stregnth, 'Not by might, but by the Spirit of the Lord.' Remember and rehearse the works of God in your own heart, as a testimony to others, 'look what the Lord have done.' It stregnthens the soul to be reminded how mercifrul, gracious, powerful and faithful our Lord is. It would erase much despair and weak faith in many a Christian if they remembered the Lord. If thou wilt take that, take it - a gift given and provision is done; The Lord is gracious in all His ways. He provides and simply leaves it for us to take it if we will. I fear too often the gifts fo the Lord are refused and rejected over pride, selfishness and weak faith. Too many stories from old saints verify the provision of God to ever think of it as chance, coincidence or luck. The Lord gives, take it and use it for His glory. George Mueller rested on Psalm 81, 'Open thy mouth wide and I will fill it'. Had he not taken the gifts of the Lord for the orphanages they never would have been filled. Take it and receive that which the Lord stands providing and assisting us with. The Comforter, the Holy Spirit is a gift but too many reject itand never take it and then wonder why their joy is absent. Take it, receive the Holy Spirit and your joy shall be full. For there is no other save that here - it is the only choice of provision; Not a great selection, only one, but that is suffecient. And the ways of the Lord are such, that whether there be many selections or one, it is enough. The way fo the Lord is before us and there is none other way save this only way. See the work of God for what it is , it is the way of the Lord and it is right, be not unfaithful to accept and follow in obedience in this one way, for there is no other selection apart from Christ. There is none like that; give it me - word study, to give; The recognition by David that this sword of Goliath stands alone in comparison to all other weapons. View the ways of God and see that there is none other god but Him and Him alone. View His ways and see that His ways are right. There is none like His ways. The power of God compares to nothing else in this universe, His power is Divine. All the ways of God, we can say, 'there is none like it'.
