Ruth 3:1

"Then Naomi her mother in law said unto her, My daughter, shall I not seek rest for thee, that it may be well with thee?"

One of the marvels of the story of Ruth is the relationship between the two. From Naomi desiring to depart and leave her daughter-in-laws, to Ruth clinging fast to her with that great verse in Ruth 1:16. with Ruth returning with Naomi to her homeland, home town, Naomi's desire is to help Ruth. She plays matchmaker. My daughter - their relationship was more than inlaws; Blessed is the family and people that find a deeper relationship through love and devotion. Many a blood relative will never know such love, becuase of the broken relationship in families today. Naomi may have lost her sons, but she definitely loves and respects Ruth as her own daughter. Shall I not seek rest for thee - she desires to pursue finding a husband for Ruth; One of the great questions of the Bible. Rest, not from labor or toil, but in life. Rest and comfort of hearts, mind and soul. Do you have such rest? many a loved one seeks rest for their weary children, spouses, family and friends. It is natural to desire for them to be at rest. But to rest in the Lord is far better. For even though the cares of this life is troublesome and difficult, God is able to give rest to the weary. Chaos and trouble may be all around onthe outside, but peace and rest in the soul in Christ. I know many a parent that would cry this is their place to seek rest for lost children, spouses seeking salvation for their loved one and seeing and knowing that the only true rest is in a saved soul. 'You must be born again.' If it be not thy petition to find rest for them that are lost around you, why not? it was and is the Lord's greatest desire 'to seek and save that which is lost'. It ought to occupy our hearts, minds and attention. Seek rest for these that are on their way to hell, for there is no rest there. That is may be well with thee - word study, well; It is a painful hardship to see those that are not well in this life. For we know the truth, if they are not well here they will no be well in eternity. Now you know that i am not speaking of physical health, but the soul of men, women and children. 'It is well with my soul', is a great hymn, but how few there are that can sing that song with honesty. We are insin, we are in turmoil, we are laboring without fruit, it is nto well. The church is powerless, contaminated, unholy, unfaithful, it is not well with the church. Families are being decimated, shredded by money, lusts and horrible relationships and communications.
